Born in South Africa, Elyce Abrams is an abstract painter based in Philadelphia. Her work stems from moments that occur in her everyday life, shifted dramatically after the birth of her son. She found that her concerns, as well as her process, vastly changed at this time, finding new meaning in color, composition, and movement. Abrams received her education from the University of the Arts and her BFA from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She has received numerous awards including an Artist’s Grant from the Vermont Studio Center and a MFA Merit Scholarship from the University of the Arts. Her paintings are in public and private collections throughout the US and abroad.
